The reactions to the new "Group Evaluation" segment of our monthly NIA meetings
have been so positive that the segment will be continuing during the meeting's last hour for the conceivable future.
Positive comments have come from presenters and evaluators alike. Future presentations are sure to stimulate more
rousing discussions.
What will this meeting bring? It's another surprise for now. Possibly a chance to scrutinize the 'Cat Fence in" or maybe one of Alexander Prokop's cleaver electronic devices? You'll just have to come to the May meeting to see.
Eugene Mason, the inventor of the "Funny Funnel" product we looked at first wrote--
"I would to thank you for the time and attention you devoted to the subject invention. The group evaluation form is a good idea-- have you a copyright on it?"
"Also, I would like to mention that the essay answers are much more valuable then the y-n-dk portion. Since almost all inventions are different in design and application . .. "
Our last meeting presentation showed that new ideas don't always start from scratch. Most they are built on what is already. Don Lahrson showed this with the presentation of his "Sani- Mat" invention. The invention is the bringing together of a specialized material and a specialized application. The resulting product is the repackaging of the material in a way that will alert and inform consumers that "This" is the best material for the job.
That's what I think is an important part of the NIA. Our meetings give us a chance to see broad concepts represented in specific ideas and then get inspiration for new ideas from these broader concepts.

April meeting was as usual extremely interesting. Allen Putnam's talk on the problems and success's were quite interesting and informative. Our group really perked up at his legal problems with knockoff's but the best part was the fact that he took a great idea and is making it into a very successful company Thank you Allen for sharing your experience with us.We also had our first real product evaluation, Don Lahrson and his Mom Nancy asked for our input on their product Sani-Mat, I hope we helped! Thanks to Steve DesJardins this is developing into a very helpful and interesting part of our meeting, I think that not only were Don and Nancy helped but many other members seemed to learn from the experience. The creative juices were really flowing.
May meeting will include a talk from Dr. Bill Torch on his recent visit to Washington DC to explain the features of his product the Eye-Com he has been awarded 1 patent and has 2 more pending!
Steve will also have another invention for us to evaluate. Please come and participate you are needed and if you need help we are ready willing and able.

The Trust Account for Inventor Coalition vs. Invention Submission Corporation was established after Invention Submission Corporation (ISC) brought a lawsuit against the National Inventor Fraud Center, Inc. (NIFC) for publishing information about ISC's business practices and success rates on its web site (www.inventorfraud.com) Andy Gibbs (founder of Gibbs Group) is the trustee of the trust Account.
The trust Account's sole purpose is to provide compensation to the NIFC "for the legal defense and general expenses" incurred by the NIFC in defending itself against ISC's lawsuit. Even though Michael S. Neustel is a patent attorney who is completing much of the legal work himself and Paul Friederichs is taking a discounted hourly rate, the legal fees and other expenses associated with this lawsuit are expected to exceed $50,000. WE believed in the NIFC and here is the place to send donations:
